Almost 90 years ago a young man invented a revolutionary chair, no legs and no wood. Inspired by his bike he designed a chair made of steel. The "Freischwinger" was born. His founder was Marcel Breuer. At that time nobody was interested in his "Standard" Furniture - a new design for a new democratic society. Today you find this chair wide spread in the rooms of lawyers, offices, practices - not just in elite circles. An avantgardistic form became mainstream. Nowadays we call this cahir a design-object and design objects often cost up to many 1.000 Euro. That's ironic, because their founders wanted exactly the opposite: good design for low money.
